Romance
Celia Garbutt

Celia Garbutt lives near Ullapool, painting from her studio beside Loch Broom. She strives for a quiet drama in her paintings, where the natural and celestial worlds are reflected. While working towards this exhibition Celia spent time reading and looking at photos of the west coast Summer Walkers. The life of travellers are reflected in some paintings in this exhibition.

Celia has also taken inspiration from the  love poem Romance by Robert Louis Stevenson. Full of sentiments and imagery, this poem and has become a particular focus in this exhibition of figurative painting.
