Guided Walk
Achtercairn Archaeology Trail
Slighe Arc-eòlais Achd a’ Chàirn

Every Saturday at 1.30pm

This Guided Walk will take us past ten stone circles (remains of Atlantic Roundhouses) and many other features including wildlife and wonderful scenery. The walk is roughly two miles long, lasting around two hours on rough paths.

Please meet your guide, Jeremy Fenton at the Museum Welcome Desk in good time for the walk to start at 1.30pm (we suggest by 1.20pm).

As numbers are limited please let us know if you wish to book on to a walk. The walk is free, but donations are greatly appreciated.

You walk at your own risk and we encourage you to:

  • Wear sturdy footwear

  • Be aware that the paths are rough and can be boggy and slidy if it has been raining.

  • Tuck your trousers into your socks and check for ticks after the walk.

  • Dress for the weather – bring layers and waterproofs.

  • Prepare for the weather – bring a sun hat and lotion (you never know!).

  • Keep hydrated – bring a drink and maybe even a snack.

  • Only come if you feel well and have a good, general level of fitness.
