The Museum shop is designed to be in keeping with the presentation of the galleries and displays. Our volunteer retail team has sourced quality products, always with the focus on locally produced goods and artistic work. These include:
• wide selection of Elizabeth Larsen knitwear (Wester Ross studio)
• Red Ruby Rose (bags and purses from her Loch Gairloch studio)
• perfumes, cremes and soaps from the Perfume Studio (Mellon Charles)
• Badachro gin and glasses
• Museum-customised items.
We pride ourselves on the extensive range of books on our shelves, particularly those of local, Highland and Scottish interest. As well as the essential guide to the Gairloch area first published by John Dixon in 1886, these include the works of many authors including James Hunter, Adam Nicholson, Donald S Murray, Roger Hutchinson, James Robertson, Ian Stephen, Robert MacFarlane, Tom Devine and Margaret Bennett. Gaelic books and dictionaries also feature strongly. We have a good selection of local guide books and leaflets, including for car touring and walking.
With a choice of toys, games and good value knick-knacks, and an interesting range of children’s books, there is something here for everyone!
