Music Performance: Geological Excursion, Gairloch
Saturday 14th March, 7.30pm
This project brings together musicians from the Gairloch area and beyond to explore sound in relation to the geology of Wester Ross.

'Geological Excursion: Gairloch', is a new composition, using geological maps as the inspiration to create musical structures and relationships. Listening to deep time involves making an imaginative leap between the vibrating present and the ever so slow rhythms of geomorphology. Within the music being played in this performance, we can expect to hear sounds that are layered like sedimentary rock, interruptions arising like scourie dykes and textures both lumpy and varied like breccia.

The project has been funded by the Hope Scott Trust and Creative Scotland. Tickets cost £15, £10 concession. To book, please either contact the Museum or visit Ticket Source.
