Exhibition Launch
Friday 1st May
4pm - 6pm

Join us to help launch and celebrate our new exhibitions, with artist Lesley Mackay (Dùthchas) and photographer Mark Littlejohn (Five Years in Wester Ross) Potter (Mountain Songs).

In our Lower Gallery, inspired by Mackay country/Duthaic Mhic Aoidh, Lesley Mackay follows the route of her ancestors as they migrated southwards, exploring themes of connection and loss - of people, land, culture and belonging.

In our Upper Gallery, Mark Littlejohn's exhibition is a celebration of five years in Wester Ross. An appreciation of the beauty of all aspects of the splendour of Wester Ross, from its towering mountains, its charismatic scots pines, all the way through to the kelp beds that border our shores.

Film Screening: Return - The 50 Year Comeback Story of White-Tailed Eagles in the UK
Friday 22nd May, 7pm

Join Senior Conservation Manager, Dr Alison MacLennan for this special screening of a documentary film by the RSPB, exploring the history and return of sea eagles to the UK.

Once a familiar sight, sea eagles disappeared and have since been reintroduced to parts of their former range. This film looks at that story, from their earlier presence to their return, and reflects on what it means for people and wildlife to share the landscape today. Largely set in the Highlands and Islands, Return offers a chance to consider different experiences and perspectives around sea eagles, and the realities of living alongside them. Please either contact the Museum or visit  TicketSource to book your place.
